Truck Sinks Due To Hot Weather

by | Jul 18, 2018

With the recent heatwave continuing in the UK and temperatures rising above 30C, drivers have been warned about potential sinkholes appearing in roads.

Whilst many have been enjoying the hot weather the same cannot be said for a bin lorry in Newbury, Berkshire, which managed to get its rear wheels stuck after the road seemed to melt beneath it.

A crane was used to remove the lorry from its unfortunate predicament, causing the road to be closed for two days. Some councils have now been using gritting lorries to distribute crushed rock dust, which creates non-stick surfaces on roads where melting tar is appearing.
